Your opponent levels(in gyms , broken towers , elite 4 , .....) will be less than 50(It depends) you can use your main Pokemon(or high level pokemon).

To get the golden on Shrimpys Birthday 2007. It was Golden Beldum. You needed a Beldum holding smooth pearl, a Lucario holding smooth diamond, a phyduck holding a team boost. Then beat the evolvtion gym Beldum will turn golden!
